Alpine
Mountaineer
Made high in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains from Meadow Creek’s own Jersey herd, Mountaineer is an Appalachian take on classic alpine cheeses like Comté and Raclette. Aged for at least six months, it develops a rich, savory depth with a supple, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Though it falls into the washed rind family, the funk stays balanced by buttery sweetness, roasted nuts, and a warm brothy finish. Mountaineer melts beautifully like Raclette while carrying the deeper caramelized complexity of longer-aged alpine cheeses. Its aroma opens with toasted bread and parmesan-like notes before becoming more floral and fruity as it warms.
