Feta Voras

Not rated yet

Feta Voras is produced in the Florina province, located in the far northwestern corner of Greece, near Mount Voras, one of the highest peaks in the region. This area is characterized by its mountainous terrain, wildflowers, and herbs, providing an ideal grazing ground for sheep. The cheese is made by brothers Sokratis and Andreas, who are third-generation cheesemakers, using primarily Florina breed sheep's milk with a small percentage of goat's milk, adhering to traditional methods that have been passed down through generations. Florina is one of the seven regions that can make traditional PDO feta. It’s made in small blocks, sprinkled with sea salt from the port of Patras, aged for about three months, then sliced into wedges and packed up for shipment to New York.
